The study of computers is presented in a sequential manner, building on each previous year’s knowledge. The computer curriculum is mainly project-based, integrating the user of the computer with STEM, social studies, health, Spanish, art, music, and language arts curricular topics. Subject area teachers may also schedule time in the computer lab in order to infuse technology into the curricular areas.

· Grading for all students is based on class participation, quizzes, tests, and projects.
All students must sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at the beginning of the school year. A copy of the AUP may be found on the district website under Parents/Forms. General classroom rules and expectations are covered in the policy.
Students are issued a Chromebook and Google account using the school’s domain @littlesilverschools.org. Students will use their Chromebooks in Computer Class for most projects with the exception of film editing and the use of Microsoft products. Following a district-wide directive, students are encouraged to submit their work online using their Google account and Google Classroom in a collaborative effort with teachers and other students. Students will have access to school work at home. We encourage parents to view and discuss projects with their children. At the end of 8th grade, Google accounts will be deleted. Therefore, students are encouraged to zip up their work and store it on a portable device.
